Computer Programmer
About this role
Axle seeks a Computer Programmer to support the National Cancer Institute at NIH, maintaining and enhancing critical research management systems including the Scientific Coding System, SMART, and NCI Funded Research Portfolio. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, developing software enhancements, managing data integration across NIH systems, and ensuring federal security compliance.
What you'll do
- Maintain, enhance, and modernize NCI's Scientific Coding System, SMART, and NCI Funded Research Portfolio applications
- Troubleshoot production issues, application errors, and performance problems in multi-user environments
- Develop, test, debug, and deploy software fixes, upgrades, and system enhancements
- Integrate, validate, and migrate data across NIH and NCI systems; customize reporting for grant analysis
- Configure and maintain IRDB and NCI I2E process scripts in response to eRA and IMPAC II changes
- Remediate security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with federal security requirements and FIPS standards
