Electrical Engineer II, Video Products - Sustaining (Onsite)

About this role

Axon seeks an Electrical Engineer II to sustain and improve electronics designs for in-market video products including body-worn cameras and vehicle systems. You'll manage component obsolescence, debug field issues, execute design improvements, and support regulatory compliance while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Update circuit designs to address component obsolescence, cost reduction, and post-launch improvements for mass-produced electronics
• Execute bench verification and performance evaluation using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
• Perform hands-on debugging, failure analysis, and rework of electronic systems and components
• Develop and execute test plans to validate RF performance and electronic design changes
• Collaborate with PCB design engineers to define and implement layout updates using Allegro or similar tools
• Support global regulatory compliance teams for certifications such as FCC, IC, CE, and PTCRB

• RF subsystem testing for Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and cellular
• High-speed design for USB 3.x, Ethernet, and DDR memory
• Component selection and alternate-source identification
• Laboratory equipment operation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers)
• Engineering change order execution
• Mixed-signal circuit design for processors, sensors, power, and audio
