Mission Engineer - Sarasota
About this role
Axon seeks a Mission Engineer to embed with law enforcement agencies as the primary owner of customer outcomes across Axon's technology ecosystem. You'll design, build, and deploy AI-powered workflows, integrations, and operational solutions onsite, measuring success by real-world adoption and mission impact rather than product metrics.
What you'll do
- Discover agency problems onsite and translate them into buildable, compliant solutions tied to mission outcomes
- Design and ship AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, and data pipelines using Axon's platform
- Drive hands-on adoption with daily users and iterate until solutions stick in production
- Build trusted relationships with agency leadership and lead strategic planning reviews and mission assessments
- Maintain approximately 3–4 days/week onsite presence, staying deeply connected to agency operations and evolving needs
- Capture field intelligence and patterns to influence product roadmap decisions and identify expansion opportunities
What they're looking for
- Building and deploying AI agents, prompts, and RAG systems
- Platform configuration and integration (DEMS, Fusus, Records, cloud systems)
- Customer-facing technical program management and operational transformation
- Hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across technical stacks
- Workflow design and process automation
- Stakeholder management and executive communication
- CJIS, evidence integrity, and compliance knowledge
- Field metrics definition and outcome measurement
