About this role
Axon seeks an Android Software Engineer I to design and maintain automated test suites and CI-integrated infrastructure for mobile applications across Device Manager, Device Check Out, and Fleet 3 Dashboard. You'll partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to establish quality standards and embed testability into feature development cycles.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites and CI-integrated test infrastructure across multiple Axon mobile applications
- Conduct test-plan reviews and lead quality standard discussions across Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Establish and scale automation coverage aligned with feature velocity while driving shift-left testing adoption
- Implement release validation and post-release monitoring of automation and regression test suites
- Embed testability into feature design early in the development cycle through code reviews and technical guidance
- Debug and resolve flaky tests down to the transport layer using network analysis tools

- Mobile UI automation frameworks (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or Detox)
- React Native end-to-end testing including native module bridging and cross-platform parity
- Unit and integration testing patterns for modern mobile architectures (MVVM, MVI, Redux/Zustand)
- REST/JSON API contract validation and remote data flow testing
- Networking protocols (TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, Server-Sent Events, WebSockets)
- Page-object patterns and stable-selector strategy for test automation
- CI/CD platforms and test management tools
- Network debugging tools (Wireshark, Charles)
