About this role
Babel Street seeks an experienced Data Warehouse Software Engineer III to architect, scale, and optimize their GCP-based data warehousing and ingestion platform. This role involves designing high-volume ELT/ETL pipelines into BigQuery, managing Apache Airflow orchestration, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate complex data sources into enterprise-grade warehouse infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Architect and maintain production ELT/ETL pipelines for high-volume, complex datasets into Google BigQuery
- Manage, monitor, and upgrade Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer environments with custom DAGs and operators
- Optimize GCP data services including BigQuery performance tuning, partitioning, clustering, and slot management
- Develop high-performance Python scripts, API connectors, and data integrations
- Collaborate with software, data, and analytics teams to integrate commercial and government data sources
- Ensure reliability, performance, and query optimization of the enterprise data warehouse
