Field Application Engineer

About this role

Base Power seeks a Field Application Engineer to serve as mission control support for distributed battery installation and service crews in Austin, TX. You'll provide real-time technical guidance to field teams, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and drive operational improvements while gaining expertise across electrical systems, deployment processes, and product development.

What you'll do

• Provide live technical support to field crews during battery installations and service calls via phone, text, and Slack (~75% of time)
• Troubleshoot electrical and hardware issues, escalating complex compliance matters and documenting solutions
• Monitor system health using tools like Grafana and Retool to identify and resolve issues in real-time
• Identify field issue trends and flag high-impact problems to hardware, software, and deployment teams
• Create and maintain troubleshooting guides, hardware defect logs, and service tickets in Jira/Odoo
• Collaborate with Member Experience and internal teams to improve installation speed, safety, and uptime

• Analytical and creative thinking for process improvement
