Systems Integration Engineer
About this role
Base is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to design and integrate battery management systems, inverters, and microgrid interconnect devices for residential energy storage applications. You'll combine electrical engineering expertise with hands-on hardware development to build safe, scalable systems that modernize the power grid.
What you'll do
- Design and integrate BMS, inverters, and MID hardware for residential energy applications
- Develop system architecture and electrical schematics for multi-component energy systems
- Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of integrated hardware systems
- Collaborate with software teams on hardware/software integration and control algorithms
- Support regulatory compliance and product certification processes
- Maintain documentation and technical specifications for complex energy systems

- Circuit analysis and analog/digital electronics design
- Power electronics (DC-DC/DC-AC converters, inverters, grid-tie systems)
- Battery systems (Li-ion/LiFePO4, BMS design, charging algorithms)
- Embedded programming (C/C++, Python) and communication protocols (CAN, Modbus)
- PCB design tools (Altium Designer, KiCad)
- Circuit simulation (LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink)
- High-voltage design and safety system principles
- Knowledge of UL 1741, IEEE 1547, NEC standards
