About this role

Base is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to design and integrate battery management systems, inverters, and microgrid interconnect devices for residential energy storage applications. You'll combine electrical engineering expertise with hands-on hardware development to build safe, scalable systems that modernize the power grid.

What you'll do

  • Design and integrate BMS, inverters, and MID hardware for residential energy applications
  • Develop system architecture and electrical schematics for multi-component energy systems
  • Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of integrated hardware systems
  • Collaborate with software teams on hardware/software integration and control algorithms
  • Support regulatory compliance and product certification processes
  • Maintain documentation and technical specifications for complex energy systems

  • Circuit analysis and analog/digital electronics design
  • Power electronics (DC-DC/DC-AC converters, inverters, grid-tie systems)
  • Battery systems (Li-ion/LiFePO4, BMS design, charging algorithms)
  • Embedded programming (C/C++, Python) and communication protocols (CAN, Modbus)
  • PCB design tools (Altium Designer, KiCad)
  • Circuit simulation (LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink)
  • High-voltage design and safety system principles
  • Knowledge of UL 1741, IEEE 1547, NEC standards
