About this role
Bedrock is seeking a Software Engineer to design and scale high-fidelity simulation environments for autonomous construction machinery. You'll build physics-accurate simulators that bridge the sim-to-real gap, enabling ML-driven autonomy validation and testing at scale across heavy equipment.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity 3D simulation environments for autonomous construction machines
- Create ML-driven autonomy evaluation and safety validation systems within the simulator
- Improve physics realism and computational performance, including terrain deformation modeling
- Implement scene generation and neural rendering techniques to enhance simulation accuracy
- Write production-quality C++ code and build simulation content for real-world testing scenarios
- Collaborate with autonomy and robotics teams to close the sim-to-real gap
What they're looking for
- C++ (4+ years professional experience)
- 3D simulation engines or frameworks (Unreal, Unity, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Omniverse)
- Physics simulation and numerical modeling
- Robotics simulation
- Neural rendering techniques (Gaussian splats, NeRFs)
- ML systems evaluation
- Rust (preferred)
- Software architecture and production systems design
Benefits
- Work on cutting-edge autonomous systems with real-world construction impact
- $350M funded company with industry veteran leadership
- Collaborative environment pairing engineers with construction domain experts
- Location flexibility for candidates in SF or NY offices
- Focus on meaningful infrastructure problems at scale
