BillionToOne seeks an Automation Service Engineer to support laboratory operations for oncology diagnostics, focusing on troubleshooting and maintaining Next Generation Sequencing equipment in a regulated environment. This onsite role in Menlo Park involves equipment service, root cause analysis, maintenance coordination, and process improvements with flexible shift schedules.

What you'll do

• Provide service support and troubleshooting for automated laboratory instrumentation and processes
• Perform maintenance coordination and root cause analysis on lab equipment
• Execute Installation, Operational, and Process Qualifications for new equipment
• Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure accurate regulatory documentation and compliance
• Coordinate with vendors on equipment issues and manage parts inventory
• Propose process improvements and represent automation teams in cross-functional meetings

• Laboratory equipment operation and troubleshooting
• High-throughput molecular biology equipment expertise, especially liquid handlers
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving
• Statistical analysis relevant to automated lab processes
• Technical documentation and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

• Team collaboration and communication
• Script troubleshooting (preferred)
