Legal Systems Engineer
About this role
Block seeks a Legal Systems Engineer to architect and evolve the technology infrastructure powering the Legal function. You'll design AI-driven solutions, integrate complex legal platforms, and enable the team to operate more effectively through automation, data, and intelligent workflows.
What you'll do
- Design and evolve scalable, cohesive legal systems architecture aligned with long-term vision
- Identify and drive high-impact automation, integration, and AI opportunities in legal workflows
- Lead design and implementation of AI-powered solutions using Claude, Harvey, and internal LLM platforms
- Build integrations across DocuSign CLM, Brightflag, Tonkean, AODocs, and other legal tools
- Develop APIs, automations, and data pipelines to connect systems and reduce manual work
- Provide technical leadership for eDiscovery and Information Governance workflows
What they're looking for
- Software engineering and systems architecture (7-10+ years)
- Programming in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
- SaaS platform and API integration experience
- AI tools experience (Claude, Copilot, Codex, etc.)
- ELM/eBilling platform expertise (Brightflag preferred)
- eDiscovery and EDRM lifecycle knowledge
- Data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake)
- Understanding of legal workflows and operations
