About this role
Box seeks a Software Engineer III to design and operate mission-critical caching infrastructure serving tens of millions of requests per second. You'll lead the migration to next-generation caching solutions while partnering with internal teams to solve scale, performance, and reliability challenges across the platform.
What you'll do
- Architect and develop next-generation caching solutions to replace existing Memcached and Redis fleets
- Design solutions for scale, performance, and resilience in a system handling tens of millions of requests per second
- Collaborate with client teams to understand traffic patterns and recommend caching strategies
- Maintain production-critical caching services and drive continuous reliability improvements
- Participate in technical design reviews and shape the team's architectural direction
- Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and triage production issues
