Substrate PAVC Engineer
About this role
Blueprint is seeking a Substrate PAVC Engineer to manage patching, antivirus, and vulnerability compliance across Microsoft Substrate environments. You'll handle Windows security patch deployments, troubleshoot installation failures, and use PowerShell and Kusto Query Language to automate and monitor patch compliance across large server fleets.
What you'll do
- Orchestrate monthly Windows security patch rollouts including official, prerelease, Defender, and .NET updates
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation for patch deployment, investigation, remediation, and reporting
- Query deployment results using Kusto Query Language to identify failure patterns and monitor compliance metrics
- Diagnose and resolve Windows update failures using Event Viewer logs, CBS diagnostics, and error code analysis
- Build and validate patching packages following Safe Deployment Practices across deployment rings
- Investigate deployment stragglers and coordinate with partner teams to resolve blockers and exceptions
