Analytics Engineer
About this role
Breeze Airways seeks an Analytics Engineer to design and maintain scalable semantic data models in Snowflake that power enterprise reporting, operational insights, and strategic decision-making across the airline. This role bridges data engineering and business analytics, translating complex operational and financial data into self-service analytics while supporting regulatory and mission-critical airline metrics.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and optimize star schemas, data vaults, and semantic models for analytical and operational workloads
- Manage performance tuning, query optimization, and monitoring across the semantic layer
- Deliver trusted semantic models supporting self-service analytics and company KPIs
- Act as primary analytics point of contact for business units, translating data needs into technical solutions
- Define and maintain data modeling standards, glossary, documentation, and governance best practices
- Support security and compliance requirements including access control and regulatory reporting

- Advanced SQL (Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres)
- Semantic and dimensional data modeling
- Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Python and R for data transformation
- ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
- RESTful APIs and tools like Postman
- AI/LLM assistants and Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Stakeholder communication and requirements gathering
