Software Engineer, Developer Experience
About this role
Cape is seeking a Developer Experience Engineer to build and maintain internal tools and platforms that accelerate the engineering team's productivity. You'll own the CI/CD pipelines, local development environments, AI-assisted tooling, and infrastructure that removes friction from the development workflow at a privacy-focused mobile carrier.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, local dev environments, and deployment infrastructure that minimize time-to-merge and context-switching
- Build internal tooling, SDKs, scripts, and documentation that make complex infrastructure accessible to engineers
- Evaluate, integrate, and configure AI coding tools while implementing guardrails for security and compliance
- Drive reliability improvements to eliminate flaky tests, non-reproducible builds, and environment drift
- Measure developer productivity impact through adoption metrics, build times, and quality indicators
- Collaborate across platform, product, and security teams to understand engineering needs and iterate on solutions
