About this role
Own the core ledger system that tracks balances and transactions across all card programs at Cardless, handling complex credit mechanics like interest accrual, billing cycles, and payment allocation. This is a senior architectural role requiring deep expertise in ledger systems, payments infrastructure, and financial systems that directly impact customer statements, regulatory compliance, and partner reporting.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain the double-entry ledger as the system of record for all cardholder and company balances
- Build credit mechanics including billing cycle closure, statement generation, interest accrual, and payment application logic
- Own reconciliation processes from sub-ledgers to general ledger with automated break detection
- Define system architecture and prioritize what gets built and in what order
- Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and partners to ensure ledger meets audit and regulatory requirements
- Ensure invariants hold: idempotency, immutability, and correctness across all card programs
