About this role

CarGurus is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join the DevX Tools team, responsible for building internal platforms and tools that enhance developer experience across the organization. You'll work on an internal developer portal, AI-powered tooling, and infrastructure automation in a collaborative hybrid environment.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software systems that improve developer experience
  • Build features for Showroom, the internal developer portal supporting deployments and governance
  • Support modernization initiatives including jobs replatforming, AI code review tools, and CI/CD pipeline updates
  • Facilitate AI-first platform modernization to streamline multi-repository engineering workflows
  • Debug and optimize service performance within modules and systems
  • Write automated tests across multiple levels of the testing pyramid
