About this role
CesiumAstro seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support hardware design for satellite and aerospace systems throughout the development lifecycle. You'll work on electronics packaging, thermal management, simulations, and CAD design in a dynamic startup environment focused on next-generation space communication platforms.
What you'll do
- Support mechanical design of satellite and spacecraft products from concept through in-orbit support
- Perform CAD modeling, finite element analysis (FEA), and mechanical simulations
- Design and optimize thermal management and EMI/EMC mitigation solutions
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to detailed designs
- Conduct environmental qualification testing and shock/vibration analysis
- Prepare and present engineering design review materials to stakeholders
