About this role

CesiumAstro seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support hardware development for satellite and aerospace communication systems. You'll contribute to mechanical design across the full product lifecycle—from concept through orbit—working with CAD, simulations, and testing in a dynamic startup environment.

What you'll do

  • Support mechanical designs of satellite and aerospace products through concept, detailed design, manufacturing, and testing phases
  • Perform thermal management, structural, and environmental analysis using FEA and simulation tools
  • Develop electronics packaging designs and ensure proper spacecraft mechanical interfaces
  • Apply GD&T principles and precision machining knowledge to optimize manufacturability and cost
  • Conduct EMI/EMC mitigation analysis and environmental qualification testing of assemblies
  • Prepare and present engineering design review materials to stakeholders
