About this role
Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks an Assembly Process Engineer to develop and manage assembly procedures for the SPARC tokamak, a cutting-edge fusion device. You'll collaborate with design teams to create efficient assembly sequences, select tools and methods, and produce detailed work instructions for technicians.
What you'll do
- Define assembly sequences and key process steps for the SPARC tokamak in collaboration with system design teams
- Identify optimal assembly methods, tools, and equipment required for sub-assemblies
- Create detailed work instruction packets for assembly technicians
- Organize integration of sub-assemblies into the complete tokamak device
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety
- Guide assembly process execution and troubleshoot issues in the field
