ASR Engineer

About this role

Join an early-stage AI hardware startup as an ASR Engineer to build and own a production transcription pipeline from end-to-end. You'll work directly with leadership to ship cloud-based ASR systems optimized for latency, accuracy, and reliability while collaborating across product, hardware, and international R&D teams.

What you'll do

• Build and iterate on cloud-based ASR pipelines handling audio capture through post-processing in production
• Own ASR quality metrics including latency, small-word accuracy, and voice-print reliability
• Handle data preparation, model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment workflows
• Collaborate with partner product engineer on shared backend and pipeline infrastructure
• Debug and resolve transcription quality issues in production environments
• Coordinate asynchronously with R&D, hardware, and supply-chain teams across time zones

• ASR and transcription pipeline development (end-to-end)
• Cloud-based audio processing and streaming systems
• Model training and fine-tuning for speech recognition
• Latency optimization for audio and ML systems
• On-device ML frameworks (Core ML, TensorFlow Lite)
• Production debugging and quality evaluation
• Hardware/wearable product experience
• Asynchronous collaboration across distributed teams
