About this role

An early-stage healthtech AI startup is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to build and maintain integrations between their payer intelligence platform and real-world provider and insurance systems. You'll own the integration layer, translate healthcare workflows into technical solutions using APIs and custom tooling, and work directly with clients and the founding team in a high-ownership role.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain integrations with provider practices and insurance systems using APIs, scrapers, and RPA
  • Participate in client discovery sessions to map workflows and define technical requirements
  • Ship custom integrations quickly and iterate based on real-world client feedback
  • Contribute to core product development when integration work is not the primary bottleneck
  • Develop expertise in the US provider and insurance payer landscape
  • Communicate technical problems and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders

  • Full-stack engineering (2–5 years experience)
  • Python and FastAPI
  • React and TypeScript
  • Third-party API integration
  • AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, or similar)
  • Web scraping and RPA (nice to have)
  • AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure (nice to have)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management
