About this role

Join an early-stage B2B SaaS startup as the founding design engineer, responsible for building and maintaining a cohesive design system and component library that spans both human-authored and AI-generated UIs. You'll be the sole frontend UX standard-setter, owning everything from design tokens and React components to accessibility guardrails and conversational interfaces across Slack and Teams.

What you'll do

  • Build and own a comprehensive design system with design tokens, shadcn/ui component library, and Tailwind CSS conventions
  • Define frontend patterns and enforce consistency across React Query, React Hook Form, and Zod implementations
  • Design and implement conversational agent interfaces for Slack Block Kit and Microsoft Teams Adaptive Cards
  • Establish and codify WCAG accessibility standards into brand guidelines and production code
  • Maintain frontend tooling, Biome configuration, Playwright E2E tests, and performance optimization
  • Create reusable component abstractions with motion, micro-interactions, and AI coding tool integration
