Software Engineer - Calibration Platform

Sunnyvale$151k–$240kfulltimemidAdded today

About this role

Applied Intuition seeks a Software Engineer to build a self-service calibration platform that transforms sensor calibration from an expert-dependent process into production infrastructure. You'll own cloud workflow orchestration, automated data validation, and tooling across a multi-platform fleet while debugging issues spanning cloud systems and physical vehicles.

What you'll do

  • Onboard new vehicle types and root-cause production calibration failures, converting learnings into reusable workflows
  • Build and operate cloud workflow orchestration for calibration at fleet scale, from data collection through evaluation and deployment
  • Design automated data-health validation gates for IMU/INS, GNSS/RTK, lidar, and camera sensor data
  • Drive cross-team reliability improvements by partnering with build, hardware, and infrastructure teams
  • Ship production-quality tooling that non-expert internal users can self-serve
  • Debug across cloud and vehicle systems using orchestration logs, application telemetry, and hardware inspection

What they're looking for

  • Python and modern C++
  • Cloud workflow orchestration frameworks (Flyte, Airflow, Argo preferred)
  • CI/CD, containerization, and data pipeline architecture
  • Sensor and robotics data literacy (IMU, GNSS/RTK, lidar, camera)
  • Cross-team technical influence without formal authority
  • Systems debugging from logs and telemetry
  • Physical systems or hardware-in-the-loop experience
  • Large binary and log data handling

Likely interview questions

  • Tell us about a time you debugged a production issue that required tracing through multiple systems — what was your approach to isolating the root cause?
  • Describe your experience building or operating a platform that other teams depended on. How did you handle conflicting requirements or priority shifts?
