About this role
Join an early-stage AI infrastructure startup as the first engineering hire, tasked with scaling a working agentic system into production infrastructure serving millions of users. You'll own the full technical stack—from agent runtime and orchestration to backend and frontend—while working directly with the founder and defining engineering standards as the team grows toward a CTO role.
What you'll do
- Redesign and scale the agentic system from prototype to production infrastructure handling significant user load
- Design and operate agent runtime covering orchestration, memory, verification, and reliability systems
- Own end-to-end work across backend, infrastructure, frontend, and agent layers without specialist dependencies
- Set technical stack, engineering bar, and team norms as the founding engineer
- Ship features to real business customers on a weekly cadence
- Define technical direction and architecture with no engineering organization above you

- LLM and AI agent systems built and operated in production with real users
- Full-stack development across backend, infrastructure, and frontend
- Prototype-to-production infrastructure transformation including data modeling and orchestration
- Agent orchestration, memory systems, and verification mechanisms
- Technical leadership and decision-making without hierarchical oversight
- Founding or early-stage technical ownership experience
- System architecture and production reliability patterns
