Founding Engineer
About this role
Join an AI hardware-software startup as a Founding Engineer to architect and deploy AI agents integrated with engineering tools like CAD and CAE. You'll own full-stack technical execution, drive product direction, and scale the platform across customer programs while collaborating closely with leadership and field engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Design and implement architecture integrating AI agents with CAD, CAE, PLM tools, and engineering data while ensuring security compliance for defense and medical applications
- Own end-to-end software delivery including architecture decisions, production readiness, observability, testing, and on-call operations
- Deploy and maintain production AI workflows in live customer programs
- Build evaluation and training loops using physics-informed reinforcement learning and real-world feedback to improve system performance
- Collaborate with customer engineers to identify failure points and translate insights into platform capabilities
- Mentor a small engineering team while scaling the platform across multiple operating companies
