About this role

A seed-stage AI infrastructure company is seeking 2–3 Founding Engineers to build core components of a graph-native database platform designed for AI agents. You'll own significant infrastructure pieces—query engines, storage layers, and distributed systems—while making architectural decisions that define the product long-term alongside the founding team.

What you'll do

  • Own and ship core infrastructure components including query execution engine, graph storage layer, and distributed systems
  • Make long-horizon architecture decisions with real product impact alongside the founding team
  • Contribute to benchmark and research work that defines the technical category
  • Participate in architecture reviews and navigate hard technical trade-offs in production environments
  • Help establish and raise the engineering bar as the team grows
  • Design and implement systems from first principles without existing playbooks

  • Systems programming and distributed systems development
  • Rust and/or Go proficiency
  • Query execution engine design and implementation
  • Storage layer and graph internals architecture
  • Architectural decision-making and technical roadmap contribution
  • Strong CS fundamentals and first-principles reasoning
  • Database or storage infrastructure design (preferred)
  • Open source systems-level contributions (preferred)
