About this role

Join this Y Combinator-backed GovTech startup as a Founding Engineer to build AI-powered voice agents for local government. You'll own full-stack architecture and feature development, ship production code quickly, and help shape the technical foundation from the ground up.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement core product features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
  • Make architecture and infrastructure decisions for scalable, reliable production systems
  • Build and maintain APIs, services, and data models powering the product
  • Establish DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability
  • Translate customer needs into technical solutions through direct engagement
  • Mentor and recruit early engineering hires as the team grows

What they're looking for

  • Full-stack web development (backend and frontend)
  • Backend languages: Node.js, Python, or Go
  • Cloud deployment and CI/CD pipelines
  • RESTful API design and consumption
  • Relational and NoSQL database design and modeling
  • System architecture and software design fundamentals
  • React or Vue frontend frameworks (nice-to-have)
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures (nice-to-have)
