About this role
Join a well-funded stealth startup as a Founding Engineer to build an AI-powered map and social discovery platform with 200M+ places indexed. You'll own end-to-end product and systems from zero to production, working across full-stack, search, ranking, and AI alongside the founding team in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Design and ship product features and backend systems from zero to production
- Work directly with founders on product direction and architecture decisions
- Own end-to-end problems across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI
- Build low-latency search and ranking systems using embeddings and structured data
- Develop real-time systems for chat, presence, and location features
- Optimize Elasticsearch and vector search to sub-100ms latency at scale
