Clera
Mechanical Engineer
About this role
A robotics company building rugged, extreme-environment Unmanned Ground Vehicles seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of electro-mechanical assemblies—from concept through field deployment. You'll design and validate systems for high-temperature, corrosive, and water-heavy conditions, working hands-on with CAD, analysis, prototyping, and cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Own mechanical systems from concept through production and field deployment with full design accountability
- Create 3D CAD models and conduct finite element analysis to validate designs before fabrication
- Build and iterate prototypes and test rigs rapidly; perform root cause analysis on failures
- Generate detailed assembly drawings using GD&T; collaborate with suppliers on manufacturing
- Lead design reviews and cross-disciplinary issue triages; communicate directly with end users
- Design custom jigs, fixtures, and tooling; assemble systems to evaluate performance and integration
What they're looking for
- SolidWorks 3D CAD
- ANSYS finite element analysis
- Mechanical system design and troubleshooting
- Prototyping and hardware testing
- High-temperature and corrosive environment design
- GD&T and detailed engineering drawings
- Robot design and build experience
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication
Benefits
- Visa sponsorship available
- Hands-on ownership of cutting-edge robotics technology
- Work on systems deployed in genuinely demanding, high-impact environments
- Exposure to aerospace, defense, and industrial applications
- Rapid iteration and fast-paced product development culture
