About this role

Join a fast-growing fintech startup as a Product Engineer to build end-to-end backend features for a consumer mobile platform focused on financial wellness. You'll own features from design through production, working with product and business teams to ship data-driven improvements daily in an event-driven architecture.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement backend features end-to-end including domain models, business logic, and API integrations
  • Drive data-driven product iteration and incremental releases toward key milestones
  • Query databases and analyze system performance using SQL and analytics tools against robust data pipelines
  • Debug and test complex state machines in event-driven, pub/sub-heavy systems
  • Ship to production daily via CI/CD, own implementations fully, and respond to production incidents
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business stakeholders

  • Backend development (3+ years production experience)
  • RESTful API design and consumption with auth/rate limiting
  • Event-driven architectures and message queues (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
  • Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization
  • SQL and analytics tools for performance evaluation
  • CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing, and code review
  • System design and computer science fundamentals
  • State machine debugging in distributed systems
