About this role

Build backend systems powering AI voice agents that handle patient scheduling and intake for healthcare call centers. You'll develop real-time Python services integrating with EHRs, telephony, and LLMs to enable automated conversations that reduce call center burden and improve patient access.

What you'll do

  • Build Python backend services for call orchestration, conversation state management, and tool execution in voice agents
  • Design and maintain low-latency pipelines connecting telephony, ASR, LLMs, and TTS into conversational workflows
  • Integrate with healthcare systems (Epic, Cerner, athena) for scheduling, eligibility, and patient intake
  • Develop APIs, data models, and event-driven workflows in collaboration with senior engineers
  • Own production quality: latency optimization, reliability, observability, and deployment readiness
  • Partner across AI, product, and operations teams to ship features that improve patient access workflows
