About this role
DoorDash Labs seeks a Senior/Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead firmware development for ARM-based microcontroller platforms powering robotics products. You'll own the complete lifecycle from board bring-up through validation, developing low-level firmware for motion control, sensors, communications, and safety-critical systems.
What you'll do
- Lead firmware bring-up and integration for new ARM Cortex-M embedded platforms
- Develop bare-metal and RTOS-based applications for robotic subsystems including motor control and telemetry
- Write and maintain production-quality C/C++ code with strong documentation standards
- Collaborate with electrical engineering on hardware bring-up, schematic review, and board-level debugging
- Ensure firmware safety, reliability, and robustness across systems
- Drive system validation and lead low-level debugging efforts
