Infrastructure Engineer – Database Administrator
About this role
fairlife seeks a detail-oriented SQL Server Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure Microsoft SQL Server environments across 24x7 operations. The role combines core database administration with broader infrastructure support, including Windows Server and virtualization platform management, requiring collaboration across IT, development, and business teams.
What you'll do
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server instances across production, development, and test environments
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions including indexes and query optimization
- Design and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies with regular testing
- Manage database security including user access, permissions, encryption, and compliance
- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization infrastructure; participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
- Automate processes using PowerShell and T-SQL scripting; track and report on KPIs

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
