About this role
Reflect Orbital seeks a GNC Engineer to develop guidance, navigation, and control systems for a novel space vehicle. You'll own 6-DOF simulation, design flight-ready attitude controllers, and collaborate with avionics teams to optimize orbital and attitude performance.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain 6-DOF simulation for vehicle attitude, station-keeping, and orbital dynamics
- Design and implement attitude control algorithms on flight-ready avionics hardware
- Collaborate with avionics engineers on ADCS design and performance optimization
- Analyze orbital mechanics, constellation designs, and trajectory/attitude profiles
- Conduct verification and validation of GNC flight software using simulation and HITL testing
- Support prototyping and controller implementation on prototype hardware
What they're looking for
- 6-DOF dynamics modeling and simulation
- Attitude determination and control systems (ADCS)
- Orbital mechanics and propagation
- Flight software implementation in C/C++ or similar
- Control theory and controller design
- Verification and validation (V&V) methodologies
- HITL (hardware-in-the-loop) testing
