About this role

Field AI seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and integrate electrical systems for autonomous robotic platforms operating in demanding field environments. You'll work across power architecture, PCB design, wire harnesses, and communication networks, collaborating with mechanical and software teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.

What you'll do

  • Design regulated power systems including voltage rails, DC/DC converters, and grounding schemes
  • Create PCB schematics and layouts using CAD tools; develop wire harness designs with proper shielding and strain relief
  • Architect wired and wireless communication systems (Ethernet, USB, CAN, I2C, WiFi, 5G)
  • Conduct electrical testing including power validation, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC evaluation
  • Collaborate with mechanical, sensor, and compute teams to ensure system integration and field compatibility
  • Support manufacturing, debugging, and field deployment of electrical systems

What they're looking for

  • PCB design (KiCAD, Altium, or equivalent)
  • Low-voltage power system design and testing
  • Wire harness design and integration
  • Communication protocols (USB, Ethernet, CAN, I2C, GMSL, wireless)
  • Electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, EMI/EMC tools)
  • Systems-level thinking across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
  • Technical documentation and design specifications
  • Fault analysis and reliability engineering
