About this role

Figure, an AI robotics company, seeks a Connector & Interconnect Design Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of custom electrical interfaces for humanoid robots. You'll own 3D CAD design, manufacturing documentation, electrical validation, and supplier coordination, bridging mechanical and electrical engineering needs.

What you'll do

  • Design and model custom connectors, overmolds, and electromechanical interfaces using 3D CAD with manufacturing-ready 2D drawings and GD&T
  • Perform connector electrical analysis including contact resistance, current derating, temperature rise, and mating force calculations
  • Develop and execute validation test plans covering mating cycles, vibration, thermal cycling, and environmental testing
  • Manage custom connector programs end-to-end including RFQ, supplier selection, tooling, and qualification
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure interfaces meet signal integrity, shielding, and power delivery requirements
  • Support prototype builds, first article inspections, and bench-level hardware troubleshooting
