About this role

Fluidstack seeks a Civil Engineer to lead civil engineering across a multi-site data center development portfolio, managing site selection, design, permitting, and construction from greenfield screening through completion. You'll own the civil workstream for 50GW+ of AI compute infrastructure, driving grading strategies, utility coordination, and phased delivery acceleration across large campus developments.

What you'll do

  • Own civil engineering across multi-site data center portfolio from site screening through permitting and construction completion
  • Lead civil due diligence for greenfield and conversion sites, identifying fatal flaws and cost risks during site selection
  • Develop civil basis of design, master specifications, standard drawings, and grading strategies for large campus developments
  • Structure phased delivery with early work packages to accelerate the critical path and enable parallel construction
  • Lead civil permitting strategy across jurisdictions including land disturbance, NPDES/SWPPP, floodplain, and environmental permits
  • Manage external civil consultants and coordinate civil scope with structural, MEP, fiber, and architectural teams

  • Large-scale site development civil engineering (data centers, industrial, or power infrastructure)
  • Grading, earthwork, stormwater, and site utility design
  • NPDES, SWPPP, and floodplain permitting (FEMA/CLOMR/LOMR)
  • Geotechnical investigation coordination and boring program interpretation
  • Civil consultant management and design quality control through IFC
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS (bonus)
  • PE license (bonus)
  • Hyperscale or energy infrastructure experience (bonus)
