FluidStack
Information Security Engineer, Bare Metal
About this role
Fluidstack is seeking an Information Security Engineer to build and own a comprehensive security program for their bare metal AI compute infrastructure from the ground up. You'll secure high-value model weights and training environments across a rapidly scaling global operation, addressing unique challenges at the intersection of physical and logical security at massive scale.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end security for bare metal fleet lifecycle including supply chain, provisioning, hardening, operation, and decommissioning
- Design and maintain hardened Linux golden images with automated vulnerability scanning, patch management, and configuration drift detection
- Define and enforce BMC security model including access control, credential rotation, audit logging, and firmware integrity verification
- Collaborate with network engineering on micro-segmentation, IDS/IPS deployment, and zero-trust firewall architecture
- Implement fleet-scale encryption, key management systems, and secure storage access with secure-by-default automation
- Lead threat modeling for new hardware and network designs; respond to security incidents affecting physical infrastructure
What they're looking for
- Linux hardening (SELinux, AppArmor, kernel-level security)
- Network security (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, zero-trust architecture)
- Encryption implementation (LUKS, hardware-level, HSMs, TPM/TXT)
- Infrastructure automation (Python, Go, or Rust)
- Configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- BMC platforms (OpenBMC, iDRAC, iLO)
- Bare metal or IaaS security experience
- Cross-functional communication and security architecture
