FluidStack
Security Engineer, Network
About this role
Fluidstack is seeking a Security Engineer to design and defend network security architecture across data centers, corporate systems, and cloud infrastructure supporting AI compute at scale. You'll build detection systems, harden operational technology networks, and automate security controls while protecting some of the most valuable AI model weights in the world.
What you'll do
- Design and implement network security architecture including segmentation, firewalls, and east-west controls across data centers and cloud environments
- Build network detection capabilities using telemetry, flow analysis, and alerting for training fabrics, OT networks, and WAN infrastructure
- Harden operational technology and building management systems against physical-layer threats
- Automate network security controls to ensure consistent architecture deployment across new sites
- Partner with network engineering teams to balance security and operational velocity
- Deploy and tune network detection and response (NDR) or flow-based detection systems
What they're looking for
- Production network security at scale with packet capture analysis
- Network segmentation design for mixed IT/OT/compute environments
- NDR or flow-based intrusion detection deployment and tuning
- Infrastructure-as-code for firewall rules and security controls
- Operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) security
- BGP and routing security
- Network analysis tools (Zeek, Suricata, or equivalent)
- Data center or cloud provider security environments

Likely interview questions
- Walk us through a production network segmentation you designed—what threats were you protecting against and how did you balance security with network performance?
- Describe your experience deploying NDR or flow-based detection: what did it catch, how did you tune it to reduce false positives, and what was the operational impact?
