Robotics Field Service Engineer

About this role

Formic seeks a Robotics Field Service Engineer to provide front-line technical support for deployed robotic manufacturing systems across customer facilities. You'll diagnose failures, perform maintenance, restore production uptime, and drive fleet reliability while working directly with manufacturing teams in fast-paced industrial environments.

What you'll do

• Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic cells
• Respond to remote and on-site service escalations and diagnose root causes
• Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams
• Log service activity and spare part requirements in CMMS systems
• Monitor system performance using Formic dashboards and coordinate field scheduling
• Document service work, root cause analysis, and identify recurring failure patterns

• Field service troubleshooting for robotic and industrial automation systems
• Electrical, mechanical, PLC, and robotic control system diagnostics
• Ability to read electrical schematics and pneumatic drawings
• CMMS platform experience
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Safety discipline and LOTO compliance
• Local travel up to 80% and overnight travel up to 50%
• Customer relationship building and professional communication
