About this role

Formlabs seeks a 3D Print Optimization Engineer to enhance the performance of SLA and SLS printing systems by optimizing hardware, software, and materials. You'll apply multi-disciplinary problem-solving to increase print speed, reliability, accuracy, and ease of use for global customers including Apple, Tesla, and NASA.

What you'll do

  • Push the capabilities of SLA and SLS 3D printing platforms
  • Conduct root cause analysis across mechanics, fluid dynamics, software, chemistry, optics, electronics, and thermodynamics
  • Design and execute efficient experiments to isolate behavior in complex variable systems
  • Solve multi-disciplinary engineering challenges
  • Develop and commercialize solutions that improve customer print performance
  • Assess customer impact and prioritize performance improvements
