About this role

Freedom Technology Solutions Groups seeks an experienced System Architect and Team Lead to design, deploy, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) infrastructure for the Air Force. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, focusing on VDI implementation, security patching, automation, and mentoring less experienced team members.

What you'll do

Implement and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) capabilities with emphasis on functionality and application security
Lead VDI infrastructure reviews to ensure current software versions and security patches are applied
Create and execute PowerShell scripts and deployment automation for AVD operations
Manage AVD Host Pools, OS images, and coordinate monthly patching and rollouts
Mentor and support junior team members in resolving end-user AVD issues
Support Windows Zero Touch Installation (ZTI) strategy implementation and documentation
