About this role
Freeform seeks a new graduate Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize CNC machining programs for precision metal components, including post-processing of 3D printed parts. You'll work hands-on with advanced multi-axis machines (DMG Mori, Haas) in a fast-paced, vertically integrated manufacturing environment in Los Angeles.
What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for complex metal components and 3D printed part post-processing
- Program and refine multi-axis CNC machines, interpreting CAD models and GD&T specifications for precision machining
- Select and optimize cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies for efficiency and repeatability
- Troubleshoot CNC programming issues and collaborate with machinists and design engineers to resolve problems
- Create and maintain CNC program libraries, tool databases, and process documentation
- Provide production floor technical support, training, and hands-on troubleshooting while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards
What they're looking for
- CNC programming and machining
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- CAD interpretation and technical drawing analysis
- Multi-axis CNC machine operation
- MasterCAM or Hypermill (preferred)
