About this role

General Matter, a venture-backed nuclear fuel enrichment company, seeks an early-career Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement scalable production processes that transition technology from development to reliable, cost-effective manufacturing. You'll work hands-on with hardware, collaborate with design teams, and help build systems at scale for uranium enrichment operations.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes ensuring reliability and safety
  • Collaborate with design engineers on manufacturability, performance, safety, and cost improvements
  • Build, assemble, and validate prototypes, test stands, and development units
  • Perform root-cause analysis on test failures and develop hardware mitigations
  • Establish manufacturing and quality practices that scale through production phases

  • 3D CAD (Solidworks, CATIA, NX, or equivalent)
  • GD&T and manufacturing drawings
  • Hardware assembly and hands-on building
  • Manufacturing process design
  • Root-cause analysis and troubleshooting
  • Engineering fundamentals and trade studies
  • Machining, welding, or fabrication (preferred)
  • First-principles problem solving
