About this role
General Matter, a venture-backed nuclear fuel enrichment company, seeks an early-career Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement scalable production processes that transition technology from development to reliable, cost-effective manufacturing. You'll work hands-on with hardware, collaborate with design teams, and help build systems at scale for uranium enrichment operations.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes ensuring reliability and safety
- Collaborate with design engineers on manufacturability, performance, safety, and cost improvements
- Build, assemble, and validate prototypes, test stands, and development units
- Perform root-cause analysis on test failures and develop hardware mitigations
- Establish manufacturing and quality practices that scale through production phases
What they're looking for
- 3D CAD (Solidworks, CATIA, NX, or equivalent)
- GD&T and manufacturing drawings
- Hardware assembly and hands-on building
- Manufacturing process design
- Root-cause analysis and troubleshooting
- Engineering fundamentals and trade studies
- Machining, welding, or fabrication (preferred)
- First-principles problem solving
