About this role

GovSignals is seeking a Product Engineer to own customer-facing product areas end-to-end in a fast-paced, AI-driven government contracting platform. You'll ship features daily using a TypeScript stack (Svelte/SvelteKit, Postgres, Cloudflare Workers), leverage AI pair-programming tools aggressively, and work directly with the founding team to move from concept to production.

What you'll do

  • Own high-impact product areas and ship customer-facing features daily from whiteboard to production
  • Rapidly iterate on UI, UX, and application logic based on user feedback and production data
  • Decompose ambiguous product goals into engineering plans and measure outcomes
  • Monitor production metrics, troubleshoot issues in real time, and maintain reliability of shipped features
  • Use AI pair-programming tools (Cursor, Claude Code) to multiply productivity across the team
  • Collaborate with design, cofounders, customers, and CS to translate feedback into product decisions

What they're looking for

  • Full-stack TypeScript (5+ years proven experience)
  • Frontend frameworks: Svelte/SvelteKit (preferred) or React/Next.js
  • Postgres: schema design, migrations, query optimization
  • AI coding assistants: fluent daily use of Cursor, Claude Code, or Windsurf
  • Systems design and architectural decision-making
  • Automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring
  • Problem decomposition and cross-functional communication
  • Backend TypeScript and edge computing (Cloudflare Workers)
