About this role

Handshake is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to develop and improve ML systems powering job search, recommendations, and personalized experiences on their career platform. You'll work with retrieval and ranking models, embeddings, and emerging techniques to connect students with relevant opportunities while maintaining responsible AI practices.

What you'll do

  • Build and improve ML models for search, recommendations, notifications, and embeddings
  • Develop, test, and deploy models and services in production environments
  • Create features, train models, and evaluate performance using large datasets
  • Monitor production models and optimize for quality, reliability, latency, and scalability
  • Partner with product, engineering, and data science teams to translate business needs into ML solutions
  • Conduct experiments and use marketplace metrics to measure impact of work
