AME Equipment Engineer - GA

About this role

Harbinger, an innovative EV manufacturer, seeks an experienced Principal AME Equipment Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced manufacturing equipment and automation systems for vehicle General Assembly. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing the complete equipment lifecycle from strategy and vendor selection through production ramp-up, driving efficiency and quality across assembly lines.

What you'll do

• Define and implement long-term equipment strategy for General Assembly lines including conveyance, AGVs, robotic fastening, and fluid fill systems
• Lead full lifecycle management of equipment from concept through commissioning, installation, and continuous improvement
• Plan and execute new General Assembly facility and line setups, including layout optimization and utility integration
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives
• Manage vendor relationships, technical specifications, and supplier performance for equipment delivery
• Drive process optimization through data analysis, root cause analysis, and implementation of solutions for uptime and yield improvements
