About this role
Havoc seeks a Frontend Engineer to build performant, data-driven web interfaces for autonomous systems operating in mission-critical environments. You'll develop React-based applications featuring real-time data visualization, map-based displays, and complex operational workflows while collaborating across backend, product, and design teams.
What you'll do
- Develop performant React interfaces for data-rich, real-time applications including map-based visualizations
- Integrate frontend systems with backend APIs (REST, GraphQL) while optimizing performance for large datasets
- Build and maintain reusable UI components, contributing to frontend architecture and state management
- Debug performance issues and ensure responsive, reliable experiences across devices and browsers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (backend, product, design) on end-to-end feature delivery
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code following engineering standards
What they're looking for
- React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- API integration and asynchronous data flows
- Frontend architecture and state management
- Performance optimization for complex, data-heavy applications
- Modern frontend tooling and build systems
- Map-based or geospatial visualization (Mapbox, Leaflet, Deck.gl preferred)
- Automated testing (Jest, Cypress, or similar)
- Design systems and reusable component patterns
Benefits
- Remote work opportunity
- Work on mission-critical autonomous systems across military and commercial domains
- Collaborate with experienced cross-functional teams in a fast-growing startup
- Opportunity to impact real-world deployed systems
- Support for security clearance and U.S. citizenship requirements
