About this role
Hunter Douglas seeks a Development Engineer to join its innovation group in Broomfield, CO. This role combines mechanical design, controls, and process development to create prototype hardware, establish repeatable manufacturing processes, and validate performance through data analysis. You'll own projects from concept through handoff across cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and prototypes in SolidWorks with complete documentation and BOMs
- Create electrical panel layouts and enclosure drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks
- Support prototype builds using pneumatic systems and electrical schematics
- Develop repeatable manufacturing processes by defining parameters, equipment, and control strategies
- Design and execute experiments using DOE and statistical methods to validate performance
- Maintain accurate documentation including test records, parameters, and data summaries
