Field Service Engineer - Rotary UPS
About this role
IEM seeks a Senior Field Service Engineer specializing in rotary UPS systems to lead commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex power distribution equipment across North America. This role combines mechanical expertise with electrical systems knowledge to deliver high-performance solutions in data centers, hospitals, and industrial facilities, requiring hands-on field experience with generators, flywheels, and rotating equipment.
What you'll do
- Lead on-site startup, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of RUPS systems with generator and flywheel integration
- Perform functional testing, load bank testing, synchronization, and system validation to meet performance specifications
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues with generators, flywheels, switchgear, and control systems
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and customers to resolve equipment issues within integrated RUPS systems
- Train junior field service technicians on startup procedures, troubleshooting, maintenance, and safe equipment operation
- Travel to customer sites and manufacturing facilities for commissioning, factory testing, and training activities
